STREAMTUNNEL

Getting started

Do I need a computer or server running at home?

No. Your home connection is optional. Most people use Streamtunnel's own exits without running anything at home.

How do I get the app, and which devices work?

Android first: phones, tablets and TV, on any Android version Google still supports. macOS, Linux, Windows and iOS follow, and every one is the same app. One key connects up to ten devices. Android is out now as a direct download from this site, with Google Play coming soon. Install it today, add time to your key, and connect. There is no sign-up and no waiting list.

Which locations are available?

Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Poland, Singapore, Turkey, the United Kingdom (two nodes) and the United States, plus a residential UK exit. The app shows the live list with latency.

Are there speed or bandwidth limits?

We impose no cap. Real speed depends on the exit you use and your own connection; through your own home exit it is bounded by your home upload speed.

Home and sharing

What does “stream from home” mean, and does it work?

Through your own home exit you arrive on the internet with your home's residential IP, which is what streaming services expect from someone at home; they block datacenter VPN ranges, not homes. Your subscriptions and each service's own terms still apply.

What happens when my home machine sleeps or loses its connection?

The app keeps retrying the connection, because it is usually a Wi-Fi or signal blip rather than the machine being gone. It does not silently switch you to a different exit.

Who is responsible for traffic leaving my node, or a node I share?

Traffic leaves on the owner's connection under the owner's name. Sharing a node is an act of trust between two people; there is no public marketplace and there never will be.

Privacy and the key

Do sites still know where I am?

They see the exit's address, not yours. But a site you log into knows who you are, a browser location permission tells it where you are, and anything you type is yours to give. A VPN hides your address, not your identity.

What if I lose my four words?

They are gone, and so is the account: it exists only as a hash of the words, and nothing else identifies you, so nothing can prove it was yours. Paid time on it is lost. That is the price of having no identity. Keep them somewhere safe.

What if someone else has my four words?

They can use the account until you leave it. Generate a new key in the app and move your devices across. To keep your paid time, email support with the support ID of the old key and of the new one (the app shows it under Config); we check the old account is still live and move the remaining days over.

Paying

Which cryptocurrencies do you take?

Monero, coming soon, and only Monero to begin with: it is private by design, so the chain records no sender, no receiver and no amount. Bitcoin and USDT on Polygon come later, and both are public chains where an exchange that knows you may know what you paid for. Cash in the post is coming later too; it leaves no record at all.

How do refunds work if you don't know who I am?

Card payments: within 14 days you get that payment back in full, and after 14 days you get the unused part back, worked out pro rata, so leaving early never means losing the time you have not used. It is your most recent payment that is refunded, it goes back to where it came from, and if you are on a subscription it ends and the refunded days come off. Email support with your support ID (in the app under Config) and the date and amount from your bank statement, where it shows as STREAMTUNNEL. Monero and cash in the post cannot be refunded: anti-money-laundering rules stop us sending money back to an identity we never collected, which is the same reason they leave no record of you in the first place.

How do I cancel?

Cancelling a subscription stops the next renewal; time already paid for runs to its end. One-time payments never renew.
